Default Miniature Traction Engine Weekend, Market Bosworth, April 25th/26th

Hi all. Early date for your diaries here if you wish to attend. I am again running Miniature Traction Engine Weekend on behalf of the Battlefield Line preserved steam railway. The event takes place at Market Bosworth and is about to have its third time out. The date is April 25th/26th at Market Bosworth Station, 10am - 5pm both days. We have the following to offer:

* Over 45 miniature traction engines in steam, 1.5" - 6" scales
* Three big engines (see below) in steam
* Miniature 5" gauge ride on railway
* The traditional trailer pipe organ
* Awning displays including Meccano and Model Trucks
* Miniature working area including 3" scale sawing, 4" scale flour milling
* Steam trains on the Battlefield Line hauled by one of the fleet of preserved loco's
* 16mm, Toy Steam, Fairground Models and Catering in the historic Goods Shed
* Line up & BIG Whistle 2pm each day (the louder the better!)

This years very much appreciated big engines (kindly offered by their owners) are:
* Allchin Gen Purpose 1261 of 1903
* Aveling & Porter F Type "Louise", 11240 of 1925
* Aveling & Porter "Rosetta", 9024 of 1919
The big engines will be in steam on the yard with the miniatures steaming amongst them

We have been lucky this year in the regard that we have confirmed miniature traction engines, steam lorries and even a roller, in order to give a varied display. Many makers are represented including Savage, Fowler and Burrell to name but a few.

For anyone wishing to use the steam train over the weekend our fares are frozen at the normal price so why not travel by steam from Shenton or Shackerstone and see the miniatures for free? Gate prices at MB Station only will be £4 Adult, £2 Child with all gate tickets refundable against the price of a train ticket. Please note that parking at Market Bosworth station will be extremely limited this weekend

Other than that I must thank you for your continued support on TT and also for the support of our exhibitors and visitors. If you happen to visit please come and say Hello. A warm welcome awaits. Cheers

A small update guys

* The locomotive for the weekend will be GWR 2-8-0 Heavy Freight No3803, subject to availability. The locomotive will have recently been repainted into BR unlined black for the first time in preservation, making a change from her usual GWR colours

* Final count leaves us with over 50 miniatures in steam in 1.5" - 6" scales including makers such as Marshall, McLaren, Foster, Fowler, Burrell, Tasker and more!

* You can ride the steam train from Shenton or Shackerstone for the price of normal weekend fares to see the show. The miniatures await at Market Bosworth

* In this years working area we hope to have 4" Sawing, 3" Sawing, 4" Flour Milling and hopefully a couple of stationary petrol engines too

* Join us at 2pm each day where 3803 and the three big road steamers will hold a whistle off against the 50 miniatures! The louder the better

Thank you all for your continued support and I hope we may see some TT members over the weekend

My Kindest Regards

Default See you at the weekend!

Well here we are, the last few days before MTEW 2015. I just want to take this final opportunity to say thank you to everyone that is exhibiting or planning to visit us. It has been a pleasure once again organising the event and I hope it goes well for us all despite the rain. Thank you all and hope to see some of you over the weekend

Thanks for organising this Sam, I am looking forward to it. Over 50 miniatures in attendance must include a fair number of Traction Talk members! Who else is going and what are you bringing?

Cheers, Jack
