Default Lincoln Steam - 20 August 2011

A small selection of pictures that I took today at Lincoln. Over 100 engines listed in the programme but there were a few no-shows, however at least 5 that I'd never seen on a rally field before, including Garrett 32048 Lady Raglan which was making it's first in steam rally appearance in a very long time, also 2 engines headed for the GDSF exhibition tent's Burrell 2239 and the enormous Robey portable 49484 "Baby".

Some pictures, I'll try and add a few more later.

Somehow I missed seeing the Robey portable.

Star engine must be 'Supremacy'. There is some disagreement when it last appeared in public but it is around 40 years ago.

Superb selection of steam exhibits and one or two that I've not seen before .
The Robey portable is BIG to say the least , how many horses would be needed to shift that back in the day .
One day is not enough especially when the weather is nice .

Dave

It was good to see 'Lady Raglan' out and in steam.

Clearly a lot of work has been done over the last 12 months or so. Last year at Joe Powell's sale, although complete, it was obvious it would take a lot of hard work to make it steamable once again.

Could this be the longest restoration project? I think Joe started in the 1960's.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first weekend as an exhibitor, for those who enjoyed seeing Lady Raglan in steam for the first time, special thanks to the following who played a part in the retoration, Dave Ragsdale, Ted Middlemiss, Eddie Ralph (signwriter) but a extra special thank you to Matthew Sheldon and his late father Dave, without whose commitment and skills the project would have been an even longer restoration.

A few of the miniatures, I'm not sure if people are interested. Most are 4 inch though theres a couple of six inches and the B6 road loco is 3 inch.

As I think we all gathered, the Robey is by no means a miniature.
