I think your right it prob could be better or a few more get involved with taking engines into malpas if they want to would make a great atmosphere!! But I think and I could be talking aload of sh1t here as I somtimes do goes back a few years when outsiders plus young kids where aloud in the beer tent and when the rally was across the road im sure sombody late on climbed the fence to leave and got ran over , like I say dont take this as been the reason may be others like w6cloggs could help on this but if that is the reason you cant blame the organisers for been carefull!! But maybe they could ask some of the engine owners if they were interested in going outside the beer tent !!

I think this is when wrist bands and security on the beer tent came about to stop outside public when the rally was closed

...I suppose it could be suggested that if it wasn't kept like a prison camp with lock-up at 9pm and snipers on the watch towers then people could easily walk out rather than having to scale the fences and dig escape tunnels aiming for the nearby woods!


Edit: It'd be interesting if one year someone attempts a bid for freedom on a war time era motorbike jumping over the gate and hedge in a Steve McQueen type stunt.
