Default Onslow Park Rally, 26 Aug 2012

Small selection of many pictures I took today at Onslow Park. Loads to see and do, well worth the 90 min queue to get in! Loads of general public in attendance - the biggest crowd I have seen at a rally this year I think.

My favourite bit was Aveling 11463, attending it's first ever event. Not so long ago this engine was standing in a hedge in a very rough condition, TT member Basil has worked his magic on the engine:

Mr Broken Firebar's Aveling & Porter Traction Engine 8401 with a couple of TT members who are a very long way from home:

Another TT regular on his engine, Fowler Traction Engine 8635, Blackjack:

Mine Explorer on his Aveling Roller 8290:

Burrell Showman's Road Locomotive 2879, "Lord Nelson":

Star of the show last year, Fowler Showmans Engine 15375 Supremacy:

Pair of Fowler's with a 30+ years between them, Fowler Traction Engine 9187 & Fowler Traction Engine 21647:

Foden Wagon 11850:

Sentinel 9003:

Foden Tractor 14084, now with the Walker family:

Aveling Traction 2436 and Aveling Roller 10460 were both putting a road making demonstration:

Foster Traction Engine 14410 Sprig was working as normal in the woodsawing area:

Another of engines to be found in the working area at the bottom corner of the site was Fowler Traction 9225, Pride of the Wye and Ransomes Sims & Jefferies General Purpose Engine, 15609 Lady Diana:

And lastly heavy haulage: Burrell Traction Engine 3017 Spider and McLaren Traction Engine 1642:

Well worth a visit if you are in a position to go tomorrow.

Foster Sprig was also involved in its own bit of heavy haulage on the way to the working area

Ransomes 27524 was somewhat hidden at the back of the sawing area

Only had chance on Sunday evening for a quick look at the real playpen where I was accosted by a Mr Boesing of T-T fame

Great picture of our William just working out how he can persuade Uncle Edward to buy him one to play with

I presume you mean this photo. If so he was like a 'dog with two tails' up on the footplate of Earl Haig and I couldn't resist trying to capture the expressions on his face. Personally I don't understand this thing about Burrells.

Thanks David, hasn't stopped talking about it since. His taste in Engines is near on perfect, although for some reason he does quite like the odd Foden !
