The Garrett attended her first rally in 24 years and attracted some admiring glances as well as a waddle of penquins





I didn't get much opportunity to drive because people kept pinching it





Another newbie looking splendid was Geoff Lamb's Aveling which had not been seen for many a moon.

I am surprised it took you this long to post these, looks like you had a great weekend but maybe need to hide the key if you want your own engine to play on.

I think Jane may have to visit one day and bolster the fine Marshall gathering.

We were fortunate to be on the peg next to this fine engine, and over the weekend it looked to be encouraging a large crop of young enthusiasts! Fantastic to see

Lovely looking engine.

85000 numbers indicate late '20s early '30s so why does it have all the features of an early 1880's engine?

This is the engine being referred to - I think. Built 1930

They let David steer "Queen Mary" eventually but Penquins were jostling for positions around the arena and tended to get in the shot, never mind I perhaps also did it, cameras were every where.

Thank you for sharing your excellent photos of the event with us. It was nice to see "Sunrise" at a rally as this is the first time that I have seen it since John Wakeham sold it on behalf of the Lee family of Exmouth in April this year.

By the way, the collective noun for Penguins, I believe, should be flock as technically they are classified as birds!!!

Although they are birds, different types of birds have different collective nouns eg a murmur of starlings.

There are various collective nouns for penquins:

In the water a group of penquins is called a 'raft'.

On land there several alternative names eg waddle, rookery, colony, huddle.
