From all reports I've heard, its been the biggest one ever. Dick Smith opened the event on Saturday 7 March.
Quite a few steam engines is steam for the event too.

Salisbury Roller again, with Mt Roland as the background. Frm what i hear, it was built for rolling tram track beds in Launceston Tasmania. Used up into the mid 50s. Since then preserved.

At the site, there is a 2 foot gauge rail track, during Steamfest lots of passengers go for a ride behind it.

After the oats been sorted, the straw is then pressed in a hay bailer. Buffalo Pitts used here

Had a bloody amazing week and half in Tassie! A beautiful place with some equally beautiful engines! Thank you to all the owners (especially Marshall8nhp for being my guide) for making me welcome and for letting me play on all your engines! The National Rally was good, the road run was brilliant, loverly scenery, great hospitality, great food and great people! Steamfest has got to be the busiest show for its size I have ever been too, really was good to see so many of the engine working as they were built! The Salisbury is a fantastic roller, a little engine which goes well despite being only single speed! I will never forget driving a Tasmanian built engine on Tassie roads celebrating 150 years of steam traction coming to Tasmania!
