West Of England Steam Engine Society 70th Anniversary

Held at the Stitians Showground near Truro, this year marked the Society's 70th Anniversary. As part of the celebration, a higher number of Traction Engines than usual were invited to the event. This was the highest turnout in over 20 years plus post-lockdown (the normal turnout is about 35).

This was my first ever visit to this event. Although the programme mentioned 105 Traction Engines - 2 are currently under restoration, "Clyde" (Aveling & Porter No.8471) had seemly already moved on to its next event when I visited on Sunday and 4 didn't show up. Despite that, it was a good mixture of Traction Engines I'm familiar with and ones which I've never seen before
