Really pleased to be able to go to the Sentinel Drivers Club Road Run today which started at the works in Shrewsbury and up the old Sentinel test route up Horseshoe Pass. Some breathtaking scenery and great photographic opportunities - and a serious test for the waggons participating.
Great selection of Sentinel products, both steam and diesel, not all completed the run but they all passed through the arch at the factory as they did when they were completed and ready to be sent out to customers.
Unlike any other steam engine road run I have been on in that there was no opportunity to overtake participants, you had to choose your spot and stick to it!
Some engines which I had not seen in a number of years, particularly like the wonderful livery on 9192 - destined to become my kids favourite engine I think
After climbing the 1367 feet to the top they returned back to the rally field at Shrewsbury where they will be on display tomorrow. Thank you to all the engine owners and Sentinel club for kindly giving me a map and route details which was of great help.
I've got many more of each engine if anyone is looking for one in particular.
