Default New things to demonstrate.

Hi all, as we are about to put some fires in the engines for the first time this year. Started thinking about what other things we could demonstrate at shows. We already take our rack bench to shows and plough with ploughing engines.

What I am looking for is any leads on a apple scratter already have a press I rebuild last year or a press and scratter that a traveling cider maker would have had/used.

And also a shingle making saw, not sure if they where ever used in this country maybe just the states.

Any leads would be greatly received.

Many thanks

David

you could build a shingle saw fairly easily, theyre just a frame with a rocking table and 30" dia blade. you'd probably buy one off smokestack quite easily.
i've made scratters before you just need to turn a roller from some sycamore and some stainless steel nails and bobs you uncle, if not harry bray has several at callow hill which could be bought, but they tend to make strong money, even the rotten ones. the cider boys go mad for a nice original one.
