Well known - in East Anglia - Garrett agricultural engine no. 32936 'Felsted Belle' recently came out of hibernation in her winter quarters and steamed back across Norfolk to her home yard. I hope you'll be as pleased as I was to see steam in action again.
Are we ready to go?
Farewell to her little brother.
Lovely to see public interest.
After a few miles, checking the most awkward of the newly replaced mud hole doors.
And oiling round.
Last minute decision by a car driver to not cut the corner at the junction. (Look at the angle of the car's wheel.)
Rural Norfolk scene, complete with mess of overhead wires.
Some rural Norfolk people were not interested.
But some turned out in force
Nearly home.
Really great to have a day out with an engine again. Some car drivers are as stupid as before, the sun is frequently in the wrong position for photography and telegraph poles still sprout from chimneys - but so what?
Bill.
