I have this super whistle for sale
A plug cock whistle meaning it was likely fitted to the front plate (backhead) of a portable, or in the crank pit of a traction engine.
It is about 2 1/2 inch diameter over the bell, 8 or 9 inches high.
It is pretty straight with minimal butcher marks. The hex on the bottom has a few marks as can be seen, and the column holding the bell on has a few but these are not visible as they are under the bell. Otherwise it is very good.
The bell height is adjustable to a certain extent, I assume for tuning. it is locked up with the finial.
The taper cock is a little tight, but turns, probably wants some graphite on it for use.
Turned timber display base with felt bottom included.
