Default 20no. 25l drums

Hi

I really need 20no. of the 25l drums, anyone any ideas where to locate any cheap or free? I have about 450litres or more to decant into small tanks. All to do with my water tank! Prefrably not oily ones! Water based is best.

Cheers

Dave

Why not just get a clean IBC for about £30? Or can you not get one anywhere near?

Hi

I might just do that, if I don't find any drums, there must be garages and the like that throw thousands of these 25l ones away, just I can't find them! I would like an IBC anyway to use as a means of extra water for the roller should the need arrise etc. Any ideas on ibc in cheshire?

Like you say it is justt he accessibility, I could siphon it, but a mouth full of the liquid, would make me bad I think!

Cheers

Dave

Dave

This contact may be out of date because it relates to work ages ago but:

Paul Hambley
Chemical Drums Ltd
Third Ave, Trafford Park, Manchester
0161 848 7137

They take in drums and clean them out. They have all sorts of grades and all sorts of prices and do 205 litre and IBC's.

Hope that helps!

Try contacting a local oil company, they might be able to do your a deal on new ones or cleaned ones. The might also have IBCs, if all else fails try Ebay

ebay for IBC's. Usually find them local and they're light enough to fetch and move on your own. We use one for behind the roller, its simple and neat and can be taken off the trailer with one person empty. I've then got a £100 brand new pump from ebay which i use to transfer, takes a couple of minutes meaning more time on the road driving! 1000l gets us a good long way, and only really stop once to fill it back up from the hydrant whilst we have some dinner.

Dave, if you do go the IBJ route let me know.

I've decided that the tin bath really isn't big enough for steam ups with the Merryweather and an IBJ would be of more use.

I did look on e-bay and it seems £30 - £40 is the going rate on there for a used but 'clean' example.

I'm in no hurry but if you do get one, let me know and get another for me, I'll sort you out half the collection costs or whatever.

Ebay and the Friday Ad seem the best place to find IBCs, I just got one to put in a Sankey trailer for £35.
