The Mid-Summer Steam Show at Amberley is one of the most popular events held at the Museum. The fascination of live steam draws visitors and enthusiasts from all over the county and beyond. This year the Museum will welcome a number of new visiting engines including a McLaren road locomotive from New Zealand, which is staying in the UK until mid-September when it is being shipped back home.
There will be an impressive range of steam engines of all makes, shapes and sizes. Every engine will be in steam and a grand parade will take place each day so that people can see the fine machines in action. Some of the engines will be demonstrating how they worked many years ago including a magnificent portable engine which will be powering the saw bench in the Museum’s timber yard and a steam crane that will hoist heavy timber onto the bench.
