Default Robey And Fowler's Trip To France

Had a Fantastic time in a little village in France called St Aubin du Bois, Perfect atmosphere, friendly people, no H&S despite the thousands of people there. And most of all fantastic food and drink, heres a few pictures of the event.

After being pushed off by a merlo in gear managed to make 5 pound of pressure without even lighting a fire

Driving on the right hand side of the road was interesting

You actually had to pay to get into the village, not on the engines though

Some early first world war lorries all original

The english have invaded!

Thankyou for posting these photographs, it looked like a quality event. Now for something completely different . . I found a book called 'Steam Thrashing in the Cotswolds' in a bookshop in Chipping Camden, just started reading it . . fascinating read.

A certain Robey is mentioned along with old photographs of it, including one in Fairford gravel pits, quite close to where Pedler was located. A fascinating history of the Blackwell family of Northleach and their many engines. By Michael Thexton, published by Regency Press in 1986 running to 115pps.

Thats a great story.

I didn't know that steam was allowed on the roads in France ?

Or is it OK 'cos yours are road legal here in Blighty.
