TREVITHICK DAY IN PICTURES AS STEAM ENGINES TAKE OVER CORNWALL TOWN

Vintage steam engines took over the streets of Camborne yesterday as
locals celebrated Trevithick Day 2025. The annual celebration, which
celebrated its 41st year, celebrates the famous inventor Richard
Trevithick, the pioneer of the steam engine.

The one-day festival showed off a replica of the first high-pressure
steam locomotive, the Puffing Devil, as crowds took to the centre of
the Cornish town. The festival also celebrated the industrial heritage
of the Camborne area.

This year marked a change in the organisation of the festival. For the
first time, it was organised by the Camborne Trevithick Community
Interest Company, a non-profit firm.

The event featured steam engines and vintage vehicles, which made
their way down the streets of Camborne. Five stages provided a range
of entertainment and an all-day market took place on Trelowarren
Street.

Pictures from the festival show the range of steam engines which
