Default Steam-era returns to halton labour day weekend

Hundreds made the trek to Hume Auction Farm to take part in a past annual Steam-Era festival.

The rumble of antique tractors will fill the air as Steam-Era returns for Labour Day weekend.

Hosted by the Ontario Steam and Antique Preservers Association, the annual event takes place at Hume’s Auction Farm () and offers
visitors a chance to step back in time to when agriculture relied on steam engines and hard manual labour.

The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 29 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 30, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The weekend will be packed with activities, from threshing and tractor skill competitions to a daily afternoon parade.

Andrew Webb uses oil to lubricate his 1918 Waterloo steam engine at a past Steam-Era show at Hume’s Auction Farm.

Military vehicles will also be on display, adding to the variety of exhibits.

Tickets are available at the gate, while discounted pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the auction barn on Wednesdays between 5
p.m. and 8:30 p.m. until Aug. 27.
