Default Steam engines on show at Eastnor Castle near Ledbury

Among those bringing their steam engines to show at the event were father and son Michael and John Burton from Worcestershire, who bought the Lady Helen six years ago.

They said the engine was built in 1926 and was with Torquay Council until the mid-60s, then went into preservation in Lincoln, then down to Cornwall.
They bought it due to a long-standing interest in steam engines, and have been taking it to shows ever since. The steam engines attracted crowds of people fascinated by their history and engineering, including Christopher and Heather Marshall from Hereford.

Mrs Marshall said: "We've had a lovely day. We're not experts but we do like looking at steam engines, and we are members at Eastnor Castle so we got to come for free." Children and parents got the opportunity to battle it out with Mr Tweedie, a 1911 McLaren general purpose engine.
