Two cylinder steam, twin drum capstan / winding engine for restoration
This two cylinder engine was manufactured by Charles D. Phillips of Gloucester & Newport. It was purchased from British Coal in 1988 following the closure of the Lady Windsor colliery in Ynysybwl in South Wales. It was situated by the headgear of the downcast shaft. There is a file of research on the manufacture and some correspondance relating to the purchase from British Coal. Weight approximately 3 tons.
