You miss the point. The public largely don't care if its 300, 400, 500 engines. They want a days entertainment. For us, walking around 500 engines was great but I'll bet most of the public didn't bother.

Dorset is a spectacle, most rallies can't afford the number of engines they do have turning up. At your average event what do the public at large get from 40 engines that they can't enjoy in 20?

Face it, Steam is still a draw but it isn't the 'main event' any more really.
