If you buy an oil cooled welder treat it to a change of oil. The oil could easily be 40 years old on a Bantam set. It isn't that dear - Morris Oil sells transformer oil but there are cheaper suppliers. It's worth changing as it absorbs water and loses its insulating properties - not good when the transformer relies on this property.
