Default Forncett Steam Museum on Steam-It Sunday

Happily for us, the NTET chose our Model Engineers' Day for Steam-It Sunday, so we did our bit with a road run to the Norfolk Tank Museum for miniatures and some 'grown ups'.

Regular museum visitor 'Margaret', an A&P GND tractor lead the way.

Hope no one's coming the other way!

A handsome 4 ins Fowler R3 road loco.

A rarity, 6 ins version of Burrell's one off vertical boilered lorry of 1900.

Another 6 ins Burrell, but more conventional. (Note the red flag in the background - to warn oncoming horses.)

A 3ins version of the popular 1 ins 'Minnie' described in Model Engineer in 1970.

Margaret is not used to going so slowly.

Nor is this Stanley steam car, top speed 85 mph!

This four seater Stanley is equally magnificent.

Heavy traffic in the museum yard.

A 6 ins Garrett compound, all the way from Southminster in Essex.

Encouraging the next generation, with a 4 ins Foster.

A smart 4 ins Burrell and the lorry again.

The 6 ins Burrell in a sylvan setting in the museum grounds.

A surprise visitor. 'Duke of York', a B6 Fowler crane engine on an assessment run before overhaul of the top works by local specialist Steve Barraclough.

Margaret seemed big until the Duke of York turned up.

Thanks to everyone who turned out to make this a memorable day.
Bill.
