Default Banks Steam and Agricultural Rally

The Banks Steam and Agricultural Rally still went ahed despite the poor weather preceeding it.

A number of engines gathered in a well known yard in Banks before the event, and 4 engines were to be found steaming up on the Saturday morning.

Mark Jones had brought up his K7 plougher 'Linkey' from the midlands via Mike Preistners whos BB1 was also present.

The resident Burrell 'Little Dorothy', plus another Burrell in the form of Jim Waterworths 'Magnus'

Saturday morning was overcast, but dry and one by one the engines made their way to the show field to join Robert Abrams Fowler 'Winsor' already on the field.

Despite the slippy ground the three ploughers gave a demonstration of ploughing, the AA and the BB1 ploughing and the K7 cultivating with the assistance of a modern tractor.

Saturday night threw some rain onto the field and despite the fine weather throughout the day the field was sodden. However the lads still ploughed!,

Here is 'Winsor'

Anthony Cowell brought along his fabulous Marshall on Sunday morning

And later in the day the long operation of removing exhibits started, here is 'Linkey on its way to the gate.

And John Johnsons Burrell back home after a clean and wipedown

Despite the wet ground, a number of visitors came along, they all seemed to have a fun time.

I would like to offer my thanks to the organisers for putting on the show. Also to the Johnson family for the bed, food, and an engine to look after.
