Nik , this unique engine is in your part of the world . Having failed to find succes with it as a half track Fodens put a standard early C type axle in it and turned it out as a haulage tractor with a rectangular tank on the back . Also I fancy with governors , but I am not sure what size of flywheel it had . It had an inconveniant winch drum on the rear axle . It was eventually sold into North Northumberland , near Wooler , but I am not sure if it ever did much work there . In the fifties it was bought by the Wakefields in East Durham , and was fitted with a dynamo and some lights . When Dick Wakefield sold it the firebox was said to be still like new . We were amazed to hear later that a new owner in Hatfield was having a new box fitted . The present owner tired of the solid tyres and has fitted the present balloon tyres for comfort .
