Default Cheaper than a 4 inch Miniature!!!

Ransomes portable model SG - 6 nhp built in 1935 to a Ruston design and worked on a Suffolk farm until the late 1940's and then used for soil sterilisation.

Major boiler repairs with a new firebox, etc plus a full restoration carried out in the 1990's.

Boiler certificate until July 2014 and working at full pressure - 150 psi. Next hydraulic due in 2017.

Over the past year or so the wheels have been re-bushed, water pump overhauled and a partial repaint. It has been used for driving a thrashing machine and a rack saw - and is ready to rally. This portable is big enough to do a day's work but not too big to transport as it weighs only 4.5 tons. Included in the sale are fire irons, a wooden barrel, hoses, sheet, etc plus an extensive history of the engine.

This is cheaper than a 4 inch miniature. An ideal full size engine for a first time buyer.

If you are visiting Cheffins Sale on Saturday 19th October, why not come and take a look? Only three miles from the saleground!

Photos available on request.
