West Oxon Steam Rally 20/21 July 2013
Had a pleasant trip out to Oxfordshire today for this fantastic local rally with a great selection of exhibits;
Line up at the steam parade
Savage Electric Light Engine of 1891, built for Aslands to power arc lights in their gondolas
Very, very impressed with this stationary engine - in a relatively small box trailer! Didn't note which exhibit it was though
1913 Bradford 'hit and miss' stationary engine
Not in the programme so a nice surprise when I saw it - 1918 Fowler BB1 Ploughing Engine 'Ajax'. What a beast!
Burrell Road Locomotive 'Lord Nelson' of 1913
Wallis & Steevens Expansion Engine of 1914
Burrell Showman's Engine 'Busy Bee' of 1914, certainly had an impressive turn of speed
1910 Garrett 7hp 'Mercury'
Marshall 6NHP 'Eynsham Hall' of 1891, owned by the great-grandson of its first driver/chief engineer at Eynsham Hall Estate
1912 bicycle with sidecar!
AEC Mammoth tanker
1930's Morris Commercial (does anyone know the exact type? I think it's the same type my fiance's family haulage business started with)
