A while ago I purchased a partly-completed 4 inch scale Burrell double-crank compound road locomotive and sent it to L.A. Services (‘The Engineers Emporium’) for completion. Unfortunately my circumstances have recently changed and I expect to be leaving England next year, so I wish to dispose of the engine.
The steel boiler is by Harry Holt, a well-respected boiler maker, and all work on the engine to date has been done to a high standard. Most of the parts to complete the engine are there, and there is also a complete set of ‘Live Steam Models’ drawings.
The engine owes me £18,000 and that is the price I will sell for to recoup my outlay. Obviously a purchaser will have the option as to whether they leave the engine with L. A. Services for completion or take it for completion elsewhere.
