Don't get me wrong, it's a great event but it seems to be lacking given the potential.

I attended last year with my four inch Foster (on the field) the way I understand it is they are two separate shows with two different titles. The one based in the town centre is the "Victorian Extravaganza Weekend" and the one on the field is the "Transport Extravaganza", both run by different people I gather.
It's the full size engines based in the town centre that have a grand parade, there isn't a parade starting from the showground anymore although the miniatures do have a trundle down the seafront on the Saturday night. It's a great weekend no matter which show you're booked in with. It's not often I unzip the tent at a rally in the morning and look out to sea! Lee
