As far as I can remember, when my grandparents owned the Speed 6 it was at a very advanced stage, albeit without a boiler (was under way). The chassis was pretty much complete, engine didn't need a huge amount of work and neither did the bodywork, I can't remember about the diff though?
The diff does indeed work in the opposite direction to a similar Foden Diesel, or as I am led to believe by a few more knowledgeable sources.
He has a truly stunning collection of engines, most desirable of any collection in my opinion and the man has a huge amount of work on his hands which is quite admirable especially as he does a vast amount himself!
