The roller was the Wallis advance in the pictures which has it's rolls rubbered, makes the whole experience less risky! Still great fun though!
. Maybe one day I'll find out what it's like on steel rolls, I would definitely want a crew of at least three - driver, steersman and someone at the ready with a block!
It comes in handy to know the hill like the back of my hand as I cycle up it at least once week on my way to the B&WLR! I usually come back down at half nine at night at speeds around the 40mph mark which is when the knowledge really comes in handy! ;-)
