It has to be said that the quality of the coal was definitely much better than it usually is! No complaints on that front. I saw them tipping it up loose on the Friday night, so all the pre-bagged stuff must have been distributed within the first two days. One of the blokes looking after our K5 has a wood yard, so we tend to get a load of logs in and put all the coal on the Sentinel. Unfortunately that coal is still on the back as we blew a tube out on the Saturday night road run and ended up on the low loader home. Most of the boiler fittings are now strewn about our shed and we should have it split for re-tubing by this time tomorrow!

Most sections at Pickering looked fantastically organised, it is just a shame the engines couldn't be set out neatly, there wasn't really enough space left for the general purpose engines. Our waggon spent two days parked in the middle of the caravans because health and safety said we couldn't obstruct the space round the ringside and there was nowhere else to park.
