Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet - Sheffield
5 Attachment(s)
Had a brilliant weekend at this event!!! The venue was superb, set against the backdrop of one of Sheffield's most important industrial heritage sites (loads to see and well worth a visit in it's own right!!)
Very friendly and informal atmosphere, and the crews of the six engines attending were supplied with numerous bacon, sausage and beefburger butties, all washed down with unlimited cases of beer!! The highlight for me was roading my engine (Aveling and Porter 7857), to and from the event, including some exciting 3 lane roundabout work on the inner ring-road!! A huge thanks go to Paul Wainwright and Jez Lee for organising the event and supplying all the goodies, and all the sewards and volunteers of the Industrial Hamlet that couldn't have been more helpful. Great crack all round!!!!! Couple of pics below Cheers Mike |
I couldn't agree more Mike, super little do and had a walk up to the model engineers up the road as well. I for one will be there again next year.
Regards Matt |
About 6 phone calls sunday night all saying the same thing from mates at uni.... "Which one are you on as theres about 5 enormous engines going up the road". Would of gone over if i'd had time to get over, but sounds like it was a cracking little event, i'll have to try and make it next year if its on...
