Old warden dyno testing.
The first Video is of our 1922 Ruston and Hornsby Hildary on the dyno at Old warden on saturday. The others are of Guy Debes 1875 Fowler ploughing engine. The Ruston made 56bhp on the govenors without too much effort. Guy made 90bhp with the plougher but unfortunately the drive belt wasnt heavy enough and kept sliding off even after a liberal dose of belt stick.
Enjoy. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2LH_C82sIcI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2LH_C82sIcI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9TlT0IVQQF4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9TlT0IVQQF4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5myKCoHWpLI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5myKCoHWpLI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5XanbdD4G2c&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5XanbdD4G2c&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> |

Ever tried to do jacket spuds on the road, once reduced spuds to ash and little glowing bits!! We had pasta that night.

I suppose it wasnt really funny. The cornish pasties were put in the smoke box by one of the crew and unseen by us. Simon wondered over whilst we was on the dyno and ask would his pasties be ok? "What pasties" we asked, needless to say on inspection later they were blacker than Andys coal. Needless to say, the tubes were never swept the following morning. But we did have a good laugh

I once worked with a control engineer who heated his Fraybentos pies on the space heaters. |
Colin, we stood and watched you guys on the dyno sat. evening, very impressed. Well done (but not as well done as the pasties I guess !!!)

The pasties were about half the size they should of been and just charcoal all the way through... the sausage roll however... had a good layer of charcoal on it but was fine in the middle!!!
We've not tried pie as yet in the smokebox Steve, next season will have to try one... another excuse to make a good steak n ale pie! Typically just spuds... although we did leave one in for about 3 weeks... its was very low in calories... and well cooked!! :D |
