Burrell Injector Water Valve

1 Attachment(s)
I'm looking for a 1/2" injector water valve as fitted to Burrell Engines. These were probably made by Shipham's and had a screw top gland. See picture below.

Before I start making a pattern is there any chance that someone might have one spare?

Many thanks.

Anyone?

Sorry no, but it does mean the drain valve on my tender must therefore be a Shipman valve.

Hedd,

hard to say for certain, but would guess yes. No drawings survive for this type of tap, but I have seen this style of fitting in both 1/2 and 3/4 bsp sizes on original looking burrell engines (but with a threaded outlet) in both bent nose and straight way. I know of a pattern for the 3/4 size and I will make a 1/2 bsp pattern for 2551. Interestingly, the burrell I know with a similar 1/2 fitting on the injector was not supplied new (1902) but the engine was rebuilt by garrets.

Most burrels are fitted with plug cocks or laterly globe valves. I have a hunch that there was a 'mid period' fitting as you show. Several showmanship are so fitted.

As for injector valve, sorry can't help, only know of 3/4. Pattern.
