Much Marcle 2009

Few more pictures from me. As mention heavy rain on the days prior to the event meant that many engines were told not to turn up. Shame as from looking through the programme they would have had a very good engine line up and they have struggle with the weather in the last few years. I'll go back next year and hope for sunshine.

David , a nice shot of the ' Russian ' Fowler .

Could you put up one of the other side showing the slant shaft drive to the drum , because I know that many people will have never seen an unmodified Russian ?

That's one of my favourite engines.

Sorry for all involved with organising Marcle. The weather conspired against you - I know it must be soul destroying having been there myself with Tom Rolt.

We were gutted as we were really looking forward to it - we'll just have to look forward to next year.

Thanks David for posting those photos of the 'Russian' Fowler. You were lucky to catch the sunshine!
The engine needed a short tow off the wet grass and through the ever-deepening mud to the exit on Sunday then made a 3 mile journey down the road to load up before its trip home to Hay-on-Wye. Pity about the weather.
Got to hand it to all those who worked to bring the exhibitors into the field then ended up pulling them out again on Sunday afternoon. Four tractors chained together to pull out the heaviest - quitre a sight.
Cheers & thanks to you volunteers,
Dick

Just put these on my web site, thought that you might like to see them. This is a few of the engines leaving the field on Sunday afternoon...
