The Ridgeway Run

Linked with the HCVS, its a road run taking place this Sunday, 14th June. The start is in Henley Upon Thames at the Henley Railway Station. The route then winds its way along the Ridgeway, passing through Marlow, Stokenchurch, Chinnor, Princess Risborough and Aylesbury. The very pleasant Ridgeway Run finishes at the Quainton Railway Station famous for its collection and Museum.

I believe last year a Foden C type did the run. In the late 90's we took our wagon along. This weekend, we're taking our unique 1924 Bullnose Traveller's van. I'm not sure who else is participating, there could be a steamer or two, you never know!

The time we took our Foden was the route went from Oxford to Newbury and I'm sure we did it around 1998. We took our bullnose morris yesterday, there were certainly some interesting hills on the route and scenary. Did you take Emily from Henley to Quainton along the same route? If so, how long did it take you?

Whilst I know the weather was great, it was certainly a great road run. Anyone wanting to take a wagon out on an organised road run of approx 35miles, I would certainly recommend the HCVS Ridgeway Run.
