Aveling & Porter E type roller firebox
 
I am looking at replacing the firebox in the above engine of 1926. Has anyone done it themself? How difficult is the making of a box, have you the formers to do so I could borrow, hire, buy?

It can be done, I have shaped a 3' long 10mm thick section using a home-made frame and 4 x 20t jacks, cold of course. I'm pleased the frame didn't break, though!
