Amberley miniature steam up 2024

What a wonderful day and a great turn out, so many in fact I couldn't get them all in one photo.
The weather was perfect, and the engines were happily running around all day.
If any owners want a copy of their photo, I'm happy to send it to you.

The roller with the tar pot is a nice change.

Cracking weekend! Nice pictures Nick. Well done to the museum and the organisers. Only the second time out with my not quite finished Savage and it was nearly a disaster when steaming up Saturday morning my gauge glass went. Fitted the spare and that cracked end to end! Quite what was going on there I haven’t worked out yet, engine had been steamed four times, previously with no issues, 2 of those fairly long days and covered around 10 miles. Was careful fitting the spare and warmed it through gently before putting pressure on. Thankfully the weekend was saved by a kind fellow who had a length of slightly smaller diameter glass that I was able to fit using O rings. I didn’t get his name but a real saviour, so if by chance you are reading this, thank you!

Weather stayed dry with plenty of sunshine, museum visitors showed lots of interest and a good space to run around. Agree that roller is a lovely thing.

Paul.
