It did not disappoint:

Great show, thoroughly enjoyed it again this year.

Attached a short report, and photo's of my day on the Saturday.

(Added here, to avoid loads of Welland report threads being created).

That's a good idea to get them grouped.

However, in your report you say that there were 94 full sized road steamers present..

It's true that the programme listed that number, but as my report shows, there were actually at least 111, which was a marginal increase in last year's 109.

I got 112 on Friday. Not sure whether any more turned up after I left or not. The only one that I can honestly confirm I missed was the one being auctioned

Did your 112 include any of the steam car, the centre engine and the 2 steam locos? My figure does not.

112 is correct, Rod Smith has pointed out that I did not include Fowler roller 17583.

Nope, just full size engines. Although to be fair, "Wallace" was during the early afternoon for some reason, stood some time in the Heavy Haulage arena parked in a difficult to see/film position, as you'll see from my footage once I've uploaded on YouTube

Wallace was recovering from an incident:

I believe a casting broke, not the pin that holds everything together..

No permanent damage was done and it would have been a 24 hour wonder if anyone was short of a conversation topic.

Crew and engine were fine on Sunday, the .picture in my report was taken then.

No permanent damage was done and it would have been a 24 hour wonder if anyone was short of a conversation topic. The crew were amazed on Sunday when I alerted them to the existence of the video. The weather was dull at the time and I guess normally it would have been watched just once by my friend Trevor Heath.

All was fine on Sunday, the .picture in my report was taken then.

How does a casting break and then be mended 24 hours later? Dismantling and reassembly aside, 24 hours would barely cover the heat treatment for a decent size casting weld repair.
