I will be looking for some suitable steering chain for my Aveling roller very soon.

Does anyone know a good supplier please?

Thanks in advance

I cant remember who told me, but I'm sure the Black country museum may be able to make you some. They demonstrate making chains. Or at least I think they do......

Alistair ,

Try B & G Williams , Garratts Lane , Cradley Heath , B64 - 5RH 0121 - 559-2811 .

I picked them off Google some time ago as ' suppliers of chain and crane aids ' , but do not remember if I actually contacted them . So , can you let us know how you get on , and if we should put them in ' Suppliers '.

I wonder if they do suitable turnbuckles , especially the spring loaded ones , and the nice smart twisted chain ?

They do, I have seen them doing it. I'm sure I heard of them making steering chains for someone before as well.

I took my old chains to Bradney chain on Tuesday, A very helpful chap"Bob" said no problem they can make some new ones, Friday morning 3 days later had a phone call to say they are done!.
Excellent service, and reasonable price.
