Chiltern Rally Programme 2023
This is available online:
https://www.chilterntractionenginecl...lly-programme/ Such things should always be considered indicative as opposed to definitive but the steam entries are here: https://www.chilterntractionenginecl...steam-entries/ I wish more rallies would do this, in this case it will probably lead us to attending a rally which otherwise we would miss. |
In todays age “cash only” will cause issues!

If you don't want to see the same traction engine every week, go to a different event, there are plenty all over the country. A lot of us put a lot of effort to get our engines to events, a lot of them the same each year because we enjoy them!!

You are right- there's still plenty HOWEVER not everyone can drive and/or own their a car, etc. I have to rely on public transport to get from A to B - from where I live, some rallies are almost impossible to get to, some would take too long or are too complex and there are some counties which I've noticed, for whatever reason(s), don't allow Uber to operate within. On the two occasions I went to Bressingham, I was lucky enough to a fellow enthusuast (and best friend for over 21 years) who was willing to drive me there for a nice day out. His work commitments have changed since. To sum up, everyone's situation is different.
Moving on, there are plenty of engines I'd love to see someday including the Yellow Showman's Engine called "Wait and See" and the late Fred Dibnah's "Firey Elias" |
