Spring Steam-Up at the Long Shop Museum 2018
My first dose of 'public' steam for 2018, thanks to the Long Shop Museum in Leiston.
Three Garrett engines went for a trundle round the town. The Museum's unique 'Suffolk Punch' tractor of 1919. A belated attempt to compete with I/C engined tractors. Officially named 'The Joker', but I prefer the colloquial 'Old Coming as it Went'. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44507 It really needs a two man crew. Look where the regulator is and think about using it whilst steering! http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44508 Leafy Leiston http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44509 Safely back. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44510 The visiting 4CD tractor number 33305 in Showman's form, 'The Mighty Atom'. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44511 Heavy traffic in Leiston High Street. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44512 The Museum's 1923 roller number 34265, 'Consuelo Allen'. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44513 Returning through the Richard Garrett gates. http://www.tractiontalkforum.com/pic...ictureid=44514 Incidentally, excellent tea and cake for only £2. Nice to see Joker back in steam. Is the tractor being restored now the roller and Joker are done?
