Chiltern (Prestwood) Steam Rally, 1 July 2017
 

Here are my photo's taken at my first visit to this rally, Great event, very friendly, very little H&S yellow jackets about, great commentary and action in the ring all the time. Well worth the four hour round trip, thoroughly recommend this event. Enjoy.

Great pics, why the cornish flags on the last pic ?

Is the big Fowler Road loco with the blue belly tank Bicknell's 12257 ?

The people looking after the engine for the weekend are from Cornwall hence the flags. There was a joke made that they didn't bring any Cornish Pasties

Didn't Jack Gillam own William V for a time in the late 1980's ?

yes he did Chris. think it was 88 he bought it off Frank Lythgoe. i helped rally it until he saw £ signs and decided to sell it...... we told him to lock it in garage and not to sell..... boy he was pissed off a few years later when he realised how much they were selling for.
