Received from China! Hudswell Clarke Loco???
Nothing to do with us, but received this by mail. Please don't contact HSS, but direct or pass on to anyone may be interested. Someone may be able to look the details of the loco up by works number.
I wish to sell to a passionate collector or museum: Steam locomotive 0-8-0 saddle tank loco built by Hudswell Clarke & Co. of Leeds Works number 1644 Built in 1930 It can haul up to 22 loaded wagons and even pull trains with 36 loaded wagons and up to 60 empties. The loco obviously was in a good mechanical condition. Madan Saraff Call 91 33 65011784 or email chinese@zhongwen.in |
Haven't found a picture yet, but this:
1930s During the 1930s that Hunslet built their largest locomotives. These two 0-8-0 tank engines, built for a special train-ferry loading job in China (which they fulfilled for many years) were at that date the largest and most powerful tank engines ever built. A year or so later the same design formed the basis for an 0-8-0 tender engine for India. Many other 'large-engine' orders were received in these inter-war years. |
