Marshalls at the Museum Take 2
For a Second Year the ‘B.A.S. in Restorations’ Team have something to celebrate, this year it’s the 110th Birthday of their Marshall Traction Engine No.46276 ‘Pearl’ and the return to steam of Marshall Portable Engine No.71396 ‘Doris’ after a 10yr boiler overhaul.
To celebrate this they are organising a display of their Marshall Collection in the yard at Bury Transport Museum over the weekend of 23rd and 24th July. All 4 of their engines will be out on display Traction Engine 7Nhp 3 Speed SingleNo.46276 of 1906 ‘Pearl’, In Steam Portable 10Nhp Single No.71396 of 1919 ‘Doris’, In Steam Portable Britannia Boxed 6Nhp Single No.43090 of 1905 ‘Conchita’, In Steam Portable 12Nhp Twin Cylinder ‘S’ Type No.84922 of 1929 ‘Juan Thoo’, un-restored, on display for the last time before restoration starts Access to the Yard/Display is FREE but a Donation to the Museum is requested The Museum will be open (usual admission charges apply), FREE if you have a Full Line Return ticket on the East Lancashire Railway During the summer ‘Pearl’ will be attending the Cheshire Steam Fair, Driffield and Lincoln Rallies And ‘Conchita’ will be attending the Kelsall, Elvaston and Malpas Rallies |
