Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally 2008
Despite the poor forecast, we were very lucky with the weather, with no rain at least during daylight hours. Excellent selection of engines, and as always some fantastic scale models, this Burrell GMT in particular, caught my attention, it's absolutely spot-on, and features spring mounting and footplate operated diff-lock.

The Burrell GMT
that burrell gold medal tractor belongs to a friend of my dads. Its a smashing engine.

The 6" Burrell tractor is superb , and the first 6" model of a ' 5ton ' tractor which I have seen . The result is much more attractive and usable than I had imagined .

Edward George AKA our very own Littlesamson now has the patterns for this engine & will at some point in the future (hopefully not too distant) be offering castings & drawings for this. Have a look at his web site for more details www.littlesamson.co.uk
Having seen this engine in steam twice now I can vouch for the fact that it runs as well as it looks & for a 6” scale it’s a relatively small engine & weighs in at about 16 cwt, perhaps a possibility for when I finish my Burrell. |
I agree, that 6" Burrell does look very good indeed. I wish there were more tractors of this scale - to me they look better than the bigger engines. What about a Fowler Tiger? Now that would be nice!

brilliant weekend, just a shame about the rain we did get on the saturday night/sunday morning

Some really interesting engines there. What is the purpose of the steel band around the rear wheel on the foster single - anyone know ?
