Smallwood Vintage Rally

Coming up on the first May Bank Holiday, a rally with a really nice atmosphere organised by genuine people volunteering their time putting in a tremendous amount of work to ensure the success of this show despite somebody putting on a "spoiler" event nearby on the same weekend.

It's going be a stunning weekend ! Make sure everyone supports it this year! As all the effort that is been put in to the show it will knock any other show to shame !

Just had a quick look at the exhibitor form.

Why oh why do organisers still think that wording like that is acceptable - another one in the bin until they learn.

Care to elaborate?

Error in first post, it's actually on the SECOND May Bank Holiday.

What has the wording on an an exhibitor form got anything to do with its a got rally or not ?

The indemnity clause in favour of the organising committee, as currently written, invalidates any insurance held by exhibitors, traders etc, etc, as it denies a claimant or their insurance company any defence status in the event of any claim against the organisers.

This defect has been well known in the movement for over twenty years and simply should never appear - but still it goes on.

Check with your brokers and see what they tell you.

Thank you for the elaboration, I know that the organisers are monitoring this thread and will no doubt reply in due course.

Interesting point. My understanding is that such clauses are worthless as they are seen to be unreasonable. Would be interested in a definitive answer if anyone here has the legal expertise.
