Model Steam in Tauranga NZ

Check out our club web site for photos of the biannual model engineering convention here in New Zealand. If you look at the traction engines you might spot 3 STW models.:)

I've been to Tauranga a few times but didn't know all this existed! I've done a bit in the "Men shed" though, what a great asset
to your wonderful city!

Yep! I was scheduled to attend this year, but our trip had to be postponed. Where is the next one on North Island Phil?

Good to see you all had a good time (not that you couldn't have done).

Hi.

The next convention in 2018 is scheduled for Nelson in the South Island.
Then the 2020 convention is in Hamilton in the North Island.

Check out the MEANZ website http://www.pnmec.org.nz/meanz.php and the clubs websites for further information http://www.hme.co.nz/ and http://www.nelsonmodellers.org.nz/

What a beautiful well laid out track, It will make a lot of clubs here in the UK a bit envious. Very nice. Thanks for sharing the video.
Mick.

Cheers Phil, I attended that last one at Nelson in 2010. We then spent six weeks touring all over South Island. We had intended to do similar this year in North Island. Best laid plans and all that.

Edit: - Just took a look at Hamilton on Google Earth. Looks a fine track, with loads of space for T.E.s etc.
