Dynamo/generator suit 3 or 4 inch scale
 

Dynamo/generator suitable for a live steam traction engine of 3 or 4 inch scale. This unit has had little if any use as is evident from the lack of wear or blackening of the commutator.

Dimensions are 5inch overall length, body is 2 3/4 diameter, 3 1/2 inches to top of lifting eye.

base is 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches.

fitted with a 12 pole amature the shaft is 5/16 diameter fitted with a 3/4 brass drive pulley which is cambered to take a drive belt

the weight of the item is just over 2 lbs (1 kilo in modern money )

On a 12 volt supply the motor spins over at approx. 9000 rpm and on 6volt supply at approx. 4000 rpm .

Dependant on the rpm at which the motor is driven voltage output is variable between 4volt and 18 volt .

I have to state that this is NOT a Stuart dynamo , but is a quality dynamo/generator .

Would suit a 3inch or 4 inch traction engine as a generator
