Copper Tube Needed For Burrell Boiler

This is for a 1½" scale Burrell SCC traction engine boiler. I am having a real problem trying to locate this size.

I am looking for a length of 3.5" OD seamless Copper tube either 13 or 10 gauge, I need a piece about 8.5" long.

So as not to waste anybody's time, I do know I can get 16 gauge but that is too thin for this job. I also know I can get 3.75" diameter, but that is too big.

Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,

I purchased a length of copper tube from a company called M-Machine in County Durham. They have a website – www.m-machine-metals.co.uk – but you cannot purchase off the site. They have listed quite a few odd sizes in a pdf catalogue and I’ve just checked, 3 1/2” x 10 Gauge is listed. You need to phone them and pay by card. They were very helpful and will supply any length you require. Their phone number is 01325 381300.

Good news

I had previously contacted both those suppliers with no success, but it was over a year ago.

I phoned today and M-Machine have since got a length of the 10 gauge material in stock and have been able to supply me with what I need.

Cheers guys
