Check out station road steam in their projects list, as they have a 3" Marshall part built for under £1000 would look perfect :)

Blimey Ryan, that model looks too good to carry as a load! I noticed it a couple of weeks ago and it does seem to be underpriced - workmanship looks good and, while there is a lot to do, you are getting a lot for your money. Compare the cost of a STW kit with this engine, four wheels, tender, smokebox, hornplates and other parts - it looks a very good price to me. There was a finished example at Market Bosworth which belongs to a gentleman I know; there is a photo of it is here on TT. The boiler may be useable - nutted stays but not yet soldered.

Steve - how about a length of steel tube and making a model Lancashire Boiler for the load?

Does the engine have to be complete? have a load of bits that make up a 3'' Wallis Road loco.
